Letting go of lingering thoughts,
Battered soul that is guilt-wrought,
Present pain and past grievances,
Poor judgment and reckless chances

Tears shed for what is lost,
Wave after wave on face is tossed
Smile sewn on fresh-faced lover,
Memories of night - each and every shudder.
Inspired by a friend who has issues with letting go of memories. I just wanted to let him know that I understood him, but I'm not sure if I should show him this poem.
He could be offended.

Anyway, yeah, this is a really rushed piece, so I'll prolly make edits as the weeks pass.
